With all of the benefits Plan F provides, you can see why it has been one of the most popular plans. It wouldn’t be out of the question for Medigap Plan F to pay for itself in one surgery and hospital visit. With these benefits being exactly the same from one insurance company to another, the only difference is the price the companies charge. These prices can vary drastically from company to company. Working with a Medicare Broker such as A+ Benefits Group will allow you to shop a number of different carriers at one time.

Is Medicare Plan F going away? Yes, for some beneficiaries. Due to a law passed (MACRA) in 2015, those new to Medicare after January 1, 2020 can no longer purchase Medicare Supplement Plan F, Plan C and High-deductible Plan F. For those who are no longer eligible for these plans, there are many other good coverage options including Medigap Plan G.

For those who were eligible or enrolled in Medicare or Medicare Advantage prior to January 1, 2020 you could still be able to enroll in Medigap Plan F. If you already have Medigap Plan F, you don’t have to do anything and can keep it. Do you already have Medicare Supplement Plan F and feel as if the price is getting high?
