• Part A hospital costs and coinsurance up to an additional 365 days after   Medicare’s benefits are used up
• Part A Hospice Care coinsurance and copayments

Medigap Plan C doesn’t cover the cost of Part B excess charges. Excess charges are additional costs a doctor can charge over and above what Medicare covers, if the state allows for this. There are alternative Medigap policies available that can cover these excess charges.

Unfortunately, with the passing of MACRA, Plan C is no longer available for new to Medicare beneficiaries after January 1, 2020. If you were eligible for Medicare prior to January 1, 2020 you could still be allowed to sign-up. If you are already enrolled in Medigap Plan C you can keep it. Medicare Plan C can be more expensive than some of the other Medigap plans due to the level of coverage and age of the plan. Re-evaluating your coverage and premiums from time to time, can be beneficial to your overall financial plan.
